It is a restaurant specializing in Jeju course meals located deep in the mountains of Pyoseon.
This is my second visit following last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deep inside Beonyeong-ro, even deep within downtown Pyoseon,
Blue bricks, orange lighting, and a rooftop with iron railings.
There is a building that looks a bit strange at first glance, and that is Sabujak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a small space with just over 10 seats in total, and operates on a reservation basis.
This time, there were exactly four of us: the two of us and one foreign couple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first dish is fried tofu fish cake made with Jeju radish.
When you open the lid, steam rises up.
Maybe it's because it's Jeju radish, but it seems to taste sweeter.
The chewy rice cake inside the fried tofu is the highlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second plate is smoked salmon with Parmesan cheese sauce and salad.
The combination of citrus salad and smoked salmon is good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next came the cypress steamed dish containing Jeju black pork, abalone, and various Jeju vegetables.
Black pork slices, abalone, bean sprouts, in a wooden box, tofu<\/a>, Pack it tightly with bell peppers, peas, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fully cooked steamed dish has tender meat and chewy abalone.
There are three sauces: sesame sauce, soy sauce, and tangerine vinegar sauce.
The tangerine dipping sauce was refreshing. It was sour with a subtle tangerine aroma,
It does its job of absorbing grease effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fried eggplant topped with Jeju carrots.
It is a dish topped with a tomato-based sauce and has a touch of Italian flair.

The next course is grilled green onions and chicken skewers.
The chicken is well-grilled and caramelized on the outside, topped with two sauces.
By this time, I was so focused on eating and chatting that I don't remember what kind of sauce it was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wrapped the whole shrimp tightly in something like a spring roll wrapper and fried it.
The unique texture is enjoyable.
The popping sensation of the fluffy shrimp is nice, and the visuals are fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this point, I ordered an additional bottle of Gosori liquor.
It is a traditional Jeju distilled liquor, and it is strong at 40% alcohol.

There are many heartwarming dishes, and the portions are substantial.
It is a shame that the course composition or menu does not change often.
The composition was the same as last time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The food at Sabujak is delicious in its own way, but
It is a place where the atmosphere and conversation created by the owner are charming.
It's like visiting a close friend's house
It is a space where you can have a conversation after being introduced to other friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


If you need a private conversation with your companions or
If you just want a quiet meal, it might not be suitable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has a charm that is difficult to explain in words.
